I got a few of the albums, even bought a new turn table a few years back to be able to play them
One of the large electronic stores has a USB turntable to be able to go from album to computer
Does Iron Butterfly BALL have the drum solo on it?

Hey WildCat, I just listened to my entire Iron Butterfly Ball album and didn't find any drum solo's, but I then pulled out my Iron Butterfly "Live" album that was released on Atco Records in 1970 that contains the live version of "In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida which takes up the complete side two of the album and contains the drum solo that I believe that you're talking about. Here's the play list. Side One In The Time Of Our Lives - play time 4:23 2 Filled With Fear - play time 3:27 3 Soul Experience - play time 3:55 4 You Can't Win - play time 2:48 5Are You Happy - play time 3:20 Side Two 1 In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida - play time 19:00 By the way, if you're into AWESOME rock drum solo's, pick up a copy of Creme's "Wheels Of Fire" album, on CD! Absolutely one of the most AWESOME rock bands of all time, with Eric Clapton on guitar, Jack Bruce on bass and in my humble opinion, the BEST rock drummer of all time, Ginger Baker. His drum solo on the song "Toad", is one of the best that I have EVER heard and I've been around a long time! If you go out looking for this song, make SURE that you find the long version, as you will miss ALOT if you end up with the short version! I have posted a picture of my original "Wheels Of Fire" album cover in this thread, so check it out! Richard

Richard - Yeah Bonnie Raitt is cool. I like her versions of John Hiatt's songs, which led me to an album (CD) by Little Village. Pretty good stuff.
Vader, that's a really cool way to display your albums. I assume you lift upward, then the bottom pulls out. Nice.
I have a really nice Bang and Olufsen turntable (from about 1985), but it needs the cables replaced. Plus, my Nakamichi receiver is a total POS. One of these days, I'll get that working again. I WAS in the process of recording all my albums onto the computer, then burning them to CD. I even printed out the album covers to make a CD cover. But now, I would like to get all that music in digital form for easy access. I listen to my iPod a lot more than I ever listened to my stereo. Of course, at a buck a piece, songs on iTunes are pretty tempting.
The digitally encoded music is never quite the same as the original source material though - not if you compress it - so the albums and CD's will still be around.

I don't listen to the albums anymore but as you know, Richard, the 8-tracks are still playing. I have a working 8-track player in the garage now too so I can check out the tapes before I bring them in the car.

I have 4 cases like the one you gave me full and I still have about a 100 or so to repair. You're not old Richard, you are experienced.

Your very welcome. By the way, the Polydor stock number on this album is #PD 5058. I have also been a big fan of Stevi Nicks over the years. She and her folks live here in the Phoenix area, so that's cool also. Here's a couple more pictures of the album cover front and back and one of the inside of the album cover. The inner cover in case you can't see it in my down sized picture, has a cool picture of Stevi and Lindsey taken in the early 70's and also has all of the song lyric's printed out. Richard

Thanks my friend and I'm so glad that my 8 track tapes are still being enjoyed today as much as I enjoyed them when they were new! Those Black Sabbath tapes and lots of others, were played LOUD and OFTEN in my hot rods while out crusing in my youth! Oh the mammaries, er uh, I mean the MEMORIES those days bring back! Richard

For you younger folks, these albums won't mean crap to you
60's-80's classic rock is the only stuff I listen to! But hearing the drum solo in "In-A-Gadda-Da-Vidda" so many times gets a little old, but I can still always hear that good song!
