Hi all! This is my first time posting here and I feel a little guilty starting off questions. Sorry! I'll be bringing home a 69 convertible GTS in January and am not quite sure what to make of the emblems that are on it. I can't find any others like these and was wondering if they had been added on at some time or if they are possibly original to the car. My husband has been restoring cars for years, but this will be my "baby" so I'd like to get it right. A little background on the car....The same owner has had it for the past 30 years. She has kept it garaged and drives it once a month. She's been great about maintence on the car and takes it in for "check ups" every few months. She has done nothing else to the car. When she purchased it the previous owners told her that it had been hit on the passenger side fender and had been repaired. They also told her that the engine had been rebuilt. That was the only history that she had on the car, but we have since found out from decoding the tags that the seats and top have been replaced (they were originally black) and the original color was light green rather than the medium green that is on it now. All of the numbers match on the car and it is a true GTS convertible, but I don't know what to think about the emblems since we can't find them in any photos. Are these emblems supposed to be there and if not, does anyone know what they belong on?

Those emblems aren't even close. On 69 GTS, cars with the stripe had no side emblems, cars without the stripe had the three letters (GTS) connected on the fender.
I don't know what the emblems are from that are on it, but they are NOT CORRECT. The wheels are also not correct and I don't think the antenna is, either. Also, not to doubt what you have said, but are you sure it is an "LS27" car?

One more thing, I've had my GTS convertible (68) since 1983 and almost made an offer on a triple green 69 GTS convertible in late 1982. Mine is also technically my wife's Mopar. No matter what it is, you'll enjoy it.

Thank you so much for the reply! That's what we suspected. We've also tried to find out what kind of car these emblems were used on and haven't been able to figure that one out either. I've got so much to learn. Here's a photo of the beginning of the VIN that's on the dash. It matches the numbers on the radiator support and inside the trunk too. I asked the guys at the auto shop to check the engine numbers and they matched as well, although my husband and I haven't seen those numbers in person yet. Psstt....your wife has very good taste in cars!!!

Also on the drivers side under the trunk weather strip (about 10" - 12" behind the gas cap) is another place the vin # is stamped. You can probably cut the weather strip my sliding a razor knife right on top of the metal under it and read the vin. You can re-glue it afterwards. I used Permatex Black Weatherstrip Adhesive No. 82 Item# 81850 when I replaced my weatherstrip. Welcome to the best site for Mopars. Don't hesitate to ask questions here.....You WILL get a correct answer. Jim
Here's my 69 in progress.

The GT looks to be from a late 70s Magnum. And the sport looks to be from a sport satalite(late 60s) maybe. As Jim said no emblems with a rear stripe, and just GTS with out. Nice looking car you have there. Dave
