Now wait a minute. I just saw a bunch of you guys in Mopar Enthusiast Magazine. Whaddya mean there's no "real world" cars? (I just did a bunch of cartoons for them; and they were ALL real world cars)
n that mag is to new to give any feedback.. we don't know what direction they are going yet.. but i do know they had the blue GTX wagon in it a month after one of the other mags had it... and the second issue with the dart on the cover has the article about the dart and how the owner paid someone to do the entire thing and how its never been at the track.. but he did win a ton of trophies with it at car shows

.... we will see what directions it goes... so far i'm a little disappointed but i will give greg the bennifit of the doubt that he will make it a good mag. just has to grow into it .. if it goes the way of the others then i just won't renew.
Allow me to address your comments, Joe.
And please do NOT take this as an attack on you personally or as an attack on ANY of your comments.
I just felt it was time to respond to some of what I'm reading on the forums - and since you and I are "best buds" I figured I'd respond to YOUR issues.
RE: The Blue '68 GTX station wagon.
As hard as it may be for some people to believe, Cliff Gromer, Rob Wolfe, Randy Bolig and I do NOT get together for pizza and beer once a week to discuss what each of us is putting in our magazines.
As much as we all love what we're doing, and as much fun as it is, it's still a business - a VERY COMPETITIVE business - where each of us is trying to one-up the others in order to score more subscriptions and more newsstand sales.
Joe, if you think YOU were upset about the GTX wagon coming out in another magazine roughly 2 weeks before us, imagine how we felt knowing our issue was off at the printer with the EXACT SAME CAR in it.
The two stories and photography on the car were done by two totally different guys who don't even know each other, and no one can blame them for trying to make a buck selling the feature to a magazine.
Over the last 20+ years, you would be amazed by how many car owners have burned me by telling me I was the only one to ever photograph their car - and then, a month later, I see it in another magazine.
So the fact that the GTX wagon was in two magazines at the same time was beyond the control of either editor.
OK, so the red Hemi Dart on the cover of the second issue has never been down the drag strip.
Does that in and of itself make the owner a bad guy?
Can you state for a fact that each and EVERY single musclecar ever sold new was driven on the drag strip by each and every owner of that particular car?
Have you personally had EVERY single car you've EVER owned on the drag strip?
Of course not - and that's my point.
The magazine is "Mopar Enthusiast", NOT "Drag Racing Enthusiast".
There will be coverage of each and every aspect of the Mopar hobby - racing and non-racing alike.
A time slip should NOT be a criteria for having a car in a magazine.
Look on page 92 of the new issue:
I know for a fact that neither Larry nor his mom have ever had the Imperial on the drag strip.
Does that mean the car shouldn't be in a magazine?
Or do you and I need to discuss which one of us is bringing the tar and which one of us is bringing the feathers when we go to Larry's house?
And your 3rd point:
OK - you're a little dissappointed...............................
Please tell me EXACTLY what we could have done differently so as to NOT dissapoint you.
Be specific - give me details.
If YOU were the editor of "Mopar Enthusiast" magazine, EXACTLY what would you have done differently with each issue so as NOT to dissappoint ABodyJoe?
And I throw that same question out to every one of you:
And as for me growing into it, I totally and completely disagree with you.
I do NOT need to grow into the magazine.
What does need to happen though is for the magazine to grow into what the READERS want - but I can't make that happen if all I'm getting are negative comments and complaints without details or suggestions.
Complaining for the pure satisfaction of complaining does NOBODY any good - including the one doing the complaining.
Ya know, I get paid good money for what I do - I'll admit to that.
And even though Amos Automotive Publishing pays me every two weeks, it's the end consumer who I actually work for - it's the readers who send Amos the money to pay me to do what it is I do - provide you, the readers, with what you want for your hard-earned $$$$.
So, in effect, it's the readers who are my boss.
Now, let me ask ALL of you something:
Suppose your boss came up to you and said, "you're doing a lousy job - your work sucks" - and then just walked away without telling you what you're doing wrong or how to fix it.
How would YOU feel?
