Hood hinge questions........updated with progress pics!
« on: December 23, 2007, 09:51:40 PM »

Hi Everyone, I seem to be full of questions over the holiday vacation.

My latest bit of fun has been the need for a new hood, or at least the addition of a scoop to the stock hood.

My problem with this is that something needs to happen with the hood hinges. They are sloppy after their 40 years of use, and one of them is now rubbing the inside of the fender when closing and opening. Does anyone know where new or refurbed hood hinges for a 67 dart can be found? Or maybe I can just get a full pin on fiberglass hood?

Anyone have opinions on a full pin on hood?

I have installed my hood after removing the springs and there is no slop even with the push lock fasteners.

Well, I went and got the parts that b569rr posted in his "how to" thread. As difficult as it was to get that last bolt on the inside top of the back of the fenders, it's still easier than trying to get the hinges off with the fenders on.

Got the fenders and the hinges off. Will fix them up this saturday according to b569rr's instruction. Looks like a good solid way to solve this problem. I'll let you all know how it works out after it's all done. Pics of the dirty old girl are below.
