Old body work - RANT - new pics - replaced

I took the slant out of the Barracuda last month to get started with the body resto and 440 swap. I knew the car had been in a front end collision many, many years ago and that the left inner fenderwell needed to be replaced, BUT I was not prepared for this level of un-professional body work. This makes the twisted inner fendewell on my GTS look good. Fortunately I already have the replacement.

when i  bought my dart it was painted by a professional shop before. what a joke job they did on it. there was not one trim piece without a broken tab. the patch area was all ready rusting thru. and the paint job itself. was that a whole another story.

NO, this was before the previous owner. He bought it like this in the early 80s. At least the fix won't be so hard.

Haven't you heard? White hides ALL.......... Fortunately the inner fender I got from Dartfreak is white or beige. That's the next step, getting it ready to install and finishing the cleaning.

Hello:
People think all we have to do is clean these old cars up and repaint.....thats the kind of crap they never see ....and  to think someone paid for that "professional" work.
But I agree it looks much better now.

What? The inner fenderwell? Sure, but it's in pieces. The car? NO. I'll never find another 67 convertible WITH a ton of parts for $2k AND it ran and drove reasonably well.

The welds aren't so pretty (too bad Tom doesn't live next door), but they need a little filler anyway. It rained a bit around here today, but the car's in the garage and this was more fun than sitting watching football (I'll do that tonight).
