Here is a photo showing the size difference in the Old and the New March Serpintine Belt Waterpump Pulley. The Old pulley is about 5 7/8" in Diameter and the New pulley is about 4 7/8" in Diameter. For those of you that might not know, The Orginal March Pulley Serpintine Belt conversion uses a smaller dia. crank pulley, which UNDERdrives your alternator and waterpump. Not a problem on a strip car or a car driven at highway speeds. But, on a street car driven in traffic at idle speeds the underdriven waterpump pulley causes a problem with overheating. I have been working with Kasey and Bill at March Pulley since September 2005 on a cure. They have re-designed the waterpump pulley to increase its speed to be close to the speed of a waterpump with factory pulley. I do not know why the chose to re do the waterpump pulley instead of making the crank pulley larger in diameter. I do know that the March people have been very good at making any problem with their product good. I had a small problem with the power steering pully at the 2004 nats and they replaced in on the spot, NO CHARGE. I have 2 cars in my shop right now with the old pulleys. They have sent me the first 2 pulleys off the line, other then their proto type, at NO CHARGE. Summer is on the way and TIME will tell if the new pulley will fix the overheat problem. BY THE WAY, I DID NOT HAVE THE OVERHEAT PROBLEM BEFORE GOING WITH THE March Serpintine Belt and Bracket Setup. Herb

my car seemed to run hot when i swapped to them, but i only had a 16" electric fan, no shroud. i added a nylon flex fan and it hardly ever gets over 180, so for me it didnt seem to be the pulley speed, what type of water pump do you have? i have a flowkooler. can you send me pics of the power steering setup on your car? im thinking of putting it back in my 69, was thinking of going with one of those universal saginaw pumps from jegs or summit.
