Nowonder all you guys have 500+cubic inch 9-second street cars. GEEZ.

Concrete block plant Supervisor. It is a good size plant and we average about 3/4 of a million block per year. We make about 30% of all the block delivered in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan.

Our block machine is a Besser V3R and was purchased new in 1962. It beaks often and I cut it up, fix it and re-weld it all back together over and over again. Stupid loud, dusty, and much more greasy than my fathers auto repair shop.

I can't stand the position, however it pays double what I would make anywhere else around here.

I'd love to find a job in the automotive field that pays descent. I can answer phones politely, make on time deliveries, and dont mind doing odd stuff to get the job finished, and the job will be finished correctly. I can push a broom, and do light auto mechanical repairs. I just want to get a job involved with cars, which are my passion. I am no professional mechanic but I can hold a light like no other and have many stories and a positive attitude.

That's what I did for about twenty years. Now I care for four Cat 3516's, thirty transfer switches, a Zenith paralleling switchgear amd a 1500 kW UPS. I miss wrenching on them every day. Nothing cooler than making the exhaust manifolds glow with a big honkin' load.

Hey, do you remember a guy that worked at Grumman everyone called "Squeeze"? They called him that because when he talked to you, he'd squeeze you into a corner... Big Al  or Easy George? These were my misfit friends.
