Friday the 11th I got fired after working for American Ironhorse Motorcycle Company for 9 years and 7 months. The company is failing and is about to go under, they are trying to free up some cash by firing about 20 people. (mostly middle management and salary employees)
So now I have to make a new resume and see what's out there.

I can't be the only mortgage banker on this site. Don't believe the hype, with rates in the mid 5%, business is great in the Paific Northwest. This is my 21st year, I'm 45 and each year gets better. Let me know if you need some dough

I'm an electrician.
I just rewired my ENTIRE house by myself. When the inspector came to approve the rough work before I rock he asked if I was a union electrician. I said no, it's funny you ask though, because one told me how to run everything. He said he asked because I pigtailed all the outlets and it wasn't necessary. I want to know... Why wouldn't you do it???

Compressed air, Vacuum, Medical gas technician - 16 years. Prior to that, worked at Grumman Aerospace as a CNC machine tech - Awsome Job
Hey, do you remember a guy that worked at Grumman everyone called "Squeeze"? They called him that because when he talked to you, he'd squeeze you into a corner... Big Al or Easy George? These were my misfit friends. What department did they work in and when? I haven't been there since '92 but I knew a LOT of ppl there!

Go here, http://www.aviall.com/cgi-bin/index.jsp Go to Careers/Current Openings My company is hiring tons of positions right now, Aviall (Boeing) is growing about 15% a year. I can't promise anything, but you have a descent chance to work for an ultra-huge company that treats its workers fair. We are at the north end of DFW airport.

This email seemed so appropriate for this topic... Subject: Fwd: I hate my job... When you have a "I Hate My Job" day, try this: On your way home from work, stop at your pharmacy and go to the thermometer section and purchase a rectal thermometer made by Johnson & Johnson Be very sure you get this brand. When you get home, lock your doors, draw the curtains and disconnect the phone so you will not be disturbed. Change into very comfortable clothing and sit in your favorite chair. Open the package and remove the thermometer. Now, carefully place it on a table or a surface so that it will not become chipped or broken. Now the fun part begins. Take out the literature from the box and read it carefully. You will notice that in small print there is a statement: "Every Rectal Thermometer made by Johnson & Johnson is personally tested and then sanitized ". Now, close your eyes and repeat out loud five times,"I am so glad I do not work in the thermometer quality control department at Johnson & Johnson." HAVE A NICE DAY AND REMEMBER, THERE IS ALWAYS SOMEONE ELSE WITH A JOB THAT IS MORE OF A PAIN IN THE ASS THAN YOURS!

I am a Hgh Schoo Auto Shop Teacher. It can be fun, It can be a pain in the A??. Get real fed up with hearing about Mythical 9 sec. sport compacts in the school parking lot?!?!?!?!!?. On the bright side I usually have a full pit crew on race day, and Plenty of help when I need to repair the car. Of course I only let highly trusted and trained children help.

I am currently an Apprentice System Relay Specialist for a power company. My job is to (learning for now anyway) make sure breakers trip when there is a problem. Apprentice pay sucks the first couple of years (4 year Apprenticeship), but the Journeyman pay is pretty dang good. Previously I was a Plant Operator for 9 years at a coal fired Power Plant for the same company. Our's had drums still and operated around 900# and 2400#. (At 3600# you don't need a drum, just tubes) We also only made around 400 MW on a good day. Those of you out of work that are still young should look into becoming lineman. It is a good way to get into the power industry........Of course being part monkey and half nuts helps.
