I'm pretty sure I know the answer to this already, but I don't want to go buy a whole car and find out it isn't what I need! So here goes.
Current Car: 1968 Valiant, drum brakes, flat motor mounts, no sway bar, etc.
Found a 1974 Plymouth Duster for sale. It is a /6 car. Should have disc brakes, spool motor mounts and sway bar, Correct? Or is the /6 K not useable?
I have been looking at parts cars where I would get EVERYTHING I need for the front end of the 68. Except the torsion bars of course. I just want to drop the whole K with suspension and everything. Rebuild it. Install my 400 BB on it, and then slide it up under the 68.
Am I barkin' up the right tree here?
Thanks guys
Chris

Disc brakes and a sway bar would have been optional on slant six cars, but it's worth a look. The sway bar can be added so I wouldn't make that a deal breaker.

One more thing, and I've only come across this once, but make sure the k-member isn't broken around the LCA pivot pin hole. It can be fixed, but it would be a pain.

You are not guaranteed a swaybar or large bolt pattern. I would get a 73+ 4 door 318 A/C car for that swap, then you get a V8 Kframe and the heavier torsion bars.

What about the engine mounts and K member. Will the /6 K work with V8 engine mounts?

Both the /6 K frame and the V8 K frame could be used with Shumacker swap mounts, or use the /6 K frame to add/modify for BB V8 power.
My Duster came with the MP BB K member and a 383 so at least I have a starting point with out having to buy more stuff.
But it was the most expensive project car I have ever started out with.

the slant 6 k frame will work with shcumacher motor mounts so its not just a disk brake conversion.

I would bet if it is a slant 6 it is more likely drum brakes and small bolt pattern. You might get lucky though 1 of the 4 73+ slant 6 dusters I have had did have disk brakes.
