Well I did it, it was smoking a little. This is a very nice car and well documented although it is just a 3 on the tree (no race car). I don't want to modify the exterior appearance of the engine at all so I will keep it w/ 2-v, stock exhaust manifold and change it to dual exhaust. The block appears to be original w/ date code of 5/18/66 (original sale date of 12/20/66). The pistons are coming out w/o needing ridge reaming and you can still see the cross hatching at the bottom of the bores. So what do you guys think? Bore, stroke? I will have it balanced before assembly. Am I being too anal? Should I just keep the original intake and exhaust and go with a 4-v intake and headers on her? Thanks for the input, Jim

I'd go basically stock. That's a very small carb to try to get much power out. I would go with a hydraulic cam and non-adjustable rockers, though. All in the interest of reliability.

Use a ball hone and rering it. A 4bbl and mild hydraulic cam, and dual exhaust will make it a nice driver thats a lot of fun.I suggest comp cam-XE256H. Rick
