sand down new paint

i just painted my car about  6 monthes ago and the paint started to bubble, when i repaint it do i need to prime it again??? if i dont hit metal of bond0

shouldnt have to , the question is what made it bubble and why wont it do it again ,

If the paint is still in good condition, and adhering well to the body, you could wet sand it with 600 grit paper and re-seal it then refinish.  But if it is bubbling due to solvent pop, you'd be better off letting the paint dry out and finish popping before attempting a repaint.

When I worked in the body shop for the local Dodge dealer, I would run the vehicle into the infra-red baking oven to speed up the solvent pop process so it could be refinished quicker.

i popped i few bubbles today, and some liquid came out?? would this be solvent pop?? if so, how is it causes??

Not solvent pop, that occurs when a layer of material gasses out after it is covered by another layer and no "liquid" would come out............was it water?? and how long ago was it painted??  In any case you need to get down to bare metal.........sorry

If you have liquid coming out it is time to bust out the 80 grit and get back to the metal and see what is going on.  My guess is is cheap ass bondo over rust holes.  BONDO is not water proof.  Even if you welded in patches where the rust was you still need to use "marglass" or some other brand of waterproof filler for the first coat to fill the pin holes and seal the reapir,then use regualr filler to make it straight.  good luck !

i don't no if it would be that, because there are bubbles in places were we didn't even put bondo, like on the roof.
