Thanks for the compliments everyone. This is a really nice, basically rust-free car and I wanted to do a nice job on the metal work. The idea is to try to make it look factory as much as possible.

Question?? What kind of surface prep did you do before putting on the Raptor liner stuff?

For the raptor stuff... just make sure everything you are spraying is clean. We used a tac-cloth to get all the dust and crap off the inner tubs. Then we used some fine steel wool to "rough" up the metal a little bit and then sprayed away. Watch out, this stuff is hard to get off skin and clothes...

I have a question about doing the minitub. Does the flange on the frame rail get cut off? Or does it get bent upward and then the re-located tub is welded to that? It's hard for me to see exactly what's going on in a 2 dimensional photograph.

Check out his shop website.....www.gforcedesignconcepts.com, has a bunch of pics of the build. It's in the "cars" section. As well as other badass cars they do And yes the flange is cut off Rob

It sure helps to see what you're in for before you start cutting. I've seen the tech or mini tubs here, but there were some angles that they took of the Demon that really showed what each step looks like. Now I'll have to take some time and check out the rest of their rides.

It's hard for me to see exactly what's going on in a 2 dimensional photograph. I cut the flange off when I did my 66. Then I just welded the tub to the frame and the trunk flor to the tub. Here are some pics.

The initial cut was in the middle of that area between the frame and the tub. Once the inner wheel house was out of the way, the frame flange was trimmed back flush. The floor and frame were welded together at that seam and smoothed. The bottom of the tub was spot welded to the frame rail. The tub could have been welded to the floor inside the trunk, but I did everything with spot welded flanges to get the factory built look, even under the car.

How did you weld the floor to the frame after you removed the flange. Because of the radius on the bend for the flange, it drop the rail about 3/16" down below the floor. Did you just pull the floor down with clamps?? I tried to tack the floor and frame together and wow. I know I'm not the best welder out there but dang, even on a very low setting it would just blow a hole.
