69 Dart fender hardware
« on: January 29, 2008, 08:31:18 PM »

I'm trying to sort out the hardware for the front fenders on my Dart. The car was disassembled by the previous owner, so not everything was bagged/tagged correctly.
While looking through the bags of hardware, I found the 4 plastic push-in fasteners that accept the screws to retain the headlight bezels. Two of these plastic parts are broken and need to be replaced.
Does anyone know a vendor that sells these parts? I can't seem to find them listed anywhere, in any catalog.

Second question relates to the bottom of the fender behind the tire where the round shims go. Should these pieces of hardware be studs/nuts or bolts, or one of each?

Again, I'm sorry if these are obvious questions, but I'm still learning my way around an A body.

Thanks for all the help so far guys. It really has made a huge difference.

George

When I had to replace the plastic for mounting the headlight bezels and grill on my '74 Dart Sport. I went to Mr. G's fasteners and found that I could cut down the long ones to the length I needed and they worked very well. Check pages 24-27 of the fasteners section in the pdf catalog. Just need to match the screw size and the length needed. I went ahead and replaced all the old plastic pieces with new, as the old ones were all very brittle. Just a thought. Willie
