Looking for a 360
« on: January 31, 2008, 08:04:30 PM »

When looking for a 360 to build into a 408 is there any years better than others?  Or any particular model better?

Thanks.

It depends on whether you want a hydraulic roller cam or flat tappet.  If you want the hyd roller cam, you would probably want to get a 5.9L magnum engine that already has the roller lifters and assembly.  Those are 1993 and later and should be lots available in salvage yards.  Those blocks also seemed to have some better machining than early 360 blocks.
