I am looking for a value because I believe the guy is asking too much and I was contemplating making him an offer. OK, the car is a 67 fastback barracuda. An original 273 Formulas S auto console in Q5, those of you who know me, know I like the color, with white interior. The good- body appears in pics, very straight, original paint wich is in dire need of repaint. all trim and badging is there however removed. all glass is there. The altered- the original auto console is long gone as is the motor and trans and it now has a 4 speed hump welding in place(shoddy welding I am told) and 4 speed peddals in place). The entire car is apart except the fenders, hood, doors, ect. All trim, dash, seats, engine compartment, everything is inside the cab of the car. I was originally looking for a fastback to put a HEMI into down the road and wanted to paint it black, red white, ect. However I am just finishing the paint and body work on my 67 dart and its the same color with white interior. I have a soft spot for this color. So I would more than likely keep it this color use my 340 in it and then put a BB in my dart, which is what the 340 was originally for and find another 68 fastback for the HEMI? So its missing some items and is all apart and needs a total resto but no rust and being apart actually does not bother me. any ideas on a value, he wants 4K is that out of line out west? I was thinking closer to $2800-3K. His ad says 4K OBO, so I am guessing he will come down a bit. Am I off base/ spoiled or in the ball park with my numbers.? I will attach a pic tomorrow. :thumb: Dave Here are a few pics for ya. LAWFISH 67 BARRACUDA 67 BARRACUDA

I have just spoken to the guy who said his brother did must not have sent all the pics. Apparently everything is there except the motor/ trans and center console which was an auto. The tail panel, lights everything all baged and named for each panel, ect. The guy works at a body paint place and SAYS its all there. Hes down to $3400 and if its all there I think I will buy it at that price. I am addicted to that color. iT ALSO has front small bolt disc brakes and small bolt 8 3/4 sure grip rear end. LAWFISH

Looks like a solid enough car. I'd go with CASH and a trailer. Start at $2,500. Be willing to go to $3,000. If he won't go, tell him you'll have to think about it. If he doesn't change his mind before you leave and you REALLY WANT that car, have the extra $400 in the truck...

something to consider if the body is really straight and there isnt any rust , your money ahead then buying a car that needs quarters and the floor fixed. just my experiance.

A-bodies since 1978, this one since 1983

Dave, consider that before my old 67 fastback in 2006 there was another fastback for sale on FABO. That one was a project that was apart with a rebuildable 383. He said $6k FIRM and it was sold within a couple of weeks. I asked and got $10k for mine done, but still a bit rough around the edges. Mine was also originally turquoise........I would have gone back with it, but I went cheap on the paint and used an in-stock color.

ya for 3400 thats a good deal considering people are paying 600$ just for a sg center section...then another 300$ for a bare A-body 83/4.....plus mostly rust free body your laughing....ya the 4-speed humps welds look half ass but if you got a buddy with a welder that can be fixed pretty easily

Honestly, I usually come across good deals oll of the time. Personally I thing $3k is the limit. I would say more like $2,000-2,500. If he's coming down on the price already then that probably means he wants to unload it.

i thought 2,000 but my values of old cars always seem to be low, i guess. i wouldnt go over 3. if that car is missing any trim or needs things like bezels, grills, it will kill you. my brother has one his is pretty solid. but from him owning it, i see they are no poor mans car like people think of the abodies. it is a big plus that its nice and solid, hard to tell just how straight it is in the condition of the body though.
