65 Dart GT
« on: February 03, 2008, 09:51:45 PM »

Hi, I just brought home my 65 Dart GT.  All the trim is there but some are dented.  I also have fender rot on the lower fenders.  My question, where can I find replacement parts for the dart?

Thanks for any help.

Parts should not be that difficult to find.  The trim around the grill/headlights/lower hood commonly called the candy canes are the toughest pieces.  If you set up a search on epay you'll see stuff come up all the time.  You may even find another whole car in your area that will be worth buying just to strip for the parts.

I looked for a half decent set for 5 years before dropping some big coin on the repops. Parts cars are the way to go.

We have the candy canes in stock and ready to ship. We also have the carpet hold downs and the 11" chrome wedge style arm rest bases as well.

They were part of the first run of repops from Laysons. They have gone down in price since I got them.

I'm happy I did.

Thanks again Rob,  I talked to Laysons and they sell the candy canes for $289.00.  Have you had any problems with Layson or were OK to work with?  This is the first early A I've ever done.  My lower front fenders have rot so I thought I'd just replace the fenders rather than patch. WRONG.  I contacted Wildcats and they want $250-$350 plus shipping per fender.  I'm now thinking the patch will be the way to go.  The one thing that I'm really amazed with is the thinkness of the sheet metal.  I had to do a little straitening of my front lower valiance.  Man, that sheet metal is heavy guage, not like the sheet metal on my '73 Dusta.  Again, thanks Rob.  Have fun at the 50th bash.

The thing is this, everyone has opinions about these parts places. Some guys would of never delt with Harold from Spitfire headers. Lots of guys have had different experiences with Laysons. Mine have been good. ( I have the lower fender patch for my car. )
