Scored a manual steering box over the weekend, HELP!
« on: February 04, 2008, 12:09:46 AM »

I went to a (not so) local swap meet Saturday. I was going for sheet metal but the supplier there didn't bring what they advertised so I roamed around and found a box marked A body manual steering $100. Inside that box was all the steering componets from the manual steering box out to the ball joints along with the strut rods. I looked it over, nothing appeared to be bent or damaged. I checked the steering box for any major binding or broken teeth, it passed the first inspection.  I scored the complete box for $75.

Well, I got it home and started cleaning on it and trying to figure out what year it is or anything about it really and have come up with very little.

If anyone could point me in the right direction with this guy I would really apprciate it.

As best as I can tell the only numbers on the steering box are 2537349--6

and the pitman arm appears to have 340273n16120-6 cast in it.
