I had a great weekend!!!! Beautiful weather lower 70's, sunny and calm. Saturday, my father-in-law took my oldest daughter(11) fishing while I was gone to town, so when I got back, I took the youngest( daughter coyote hunting. We got there about 4pm and talked to father-in-law and Ashley for a few and then went and sat up on the end of a ridge (about 60ft high)that overlooks the Brazos river about 1/2 mile away. We had not been there more than 15 min. when a coyote walked out about 100yards away. I popped it and we sat there, letting my daughter play with the mouth calls and in about 30 min another one came up. I popped it and we sat there until dark just whispering and playing. We both had a blast. On Sunday, after church, a Ford friend called and started harrassing me about being such nice weather outside, why was I not out in the shop working on the car, racing season starts in 4 weeks. So, about 3, I got up and went out to the shop. 1st I had to make a bracket for new air regulator and drier, then fix the cord on the TV that a mouse had chewed in half. After getting air and movies, I started on the Duster. I mounted the fiberglass hood to the hinges and adjusted everything, repaired, retaped, and installed the wiring harness under the hood and dash and hooked everything up, cut the reinforcement plates for the floor to mount the seats in the stock locations, made most of the bracket to mount the shifter, repaired the key hole in the rear body panal(someone pried the lock out and ripped everything out), installed the front and rear drag shocks, figured out how and what was needed to mount Trunk pins to keep the lid down, cleaned out thin interior and looked at installing the 8pt roll bar. I hope to do it in the coming weeks, after tying the rails together. I finished and cleaned up about 9:00. It felt good to be back at it and hope to get the seat plates and finish the shifter tonight and maybe get the transmission and everything set up to get a driveshaft made in a week or two. Still need to get some tin bent to cover the fuel cell well in the trunk and divider. Did anyone else get any car work done this past weekend?
