Thanks, I'm pleased with the progress so far. Can't wait until I'm finished. Working inside the wheel well sucks. Has something to do with getting my a** down on the floor and back up again

Yes, it's all down to bare metal.

real nice work. What did you use over the top of the seam. Is it filler or some kinda seam sealer??

That is definately nice work. Are those inserts lapped or butted on edge? Does it make a difference either way? What kind of plasma cutter did you use. I was just looking in the Northern Ind. catalog and saw one for about $ 7-800.00. I remember reading a thread where someone said you have to watch out for duty cycle when you purchase welders and plasma cutters. Otherwise they will cycle off and it will take forever to get the job done. Thanks for sharing and good luck with the rest of the project!!!

I have a Craftsmen plasma cutter. It didn't kick off at all. It cut as fast as I wanted with no problem. I just placed the nozzle against the wheel tub and worked around it. That left a real nice clean edge.
I lapped the inserts, not butted. Either will work. I saw someone else do it with the lap joints, I liked it, so I copied it.
