changing over to "c" body tie rod ends?
« on: February 09, 2008, 10:09:38 PM »

I have a '74 swinger that will soon be getting the front suspension redone.I'm planning on using the center link, pitman arm, drag link, and manual steering box from a '69. I also have the "c" body tie rod ends and aluminum adjusting sleeves. My question is, will all of these parts bolt together or will I have to ream parts to make the rod ends work? thanks in advance , mike                                                                         bbd sign

Supposedly they all will work together, I'd test fit just for my own peace of mind and compare to the stuff you're taking off. Just make sure you use ALOT of anti-sieze in the aluminum sleeves' threads, otherwise they may corrode themselves solid and strip out when you go to adjust them. The latter is enough for me to keep the old ones around, if they are still good, as a backup, just in case.
