Stealth pinch wall thickness?
« on: February 10, 2008, 10:33:50 PM »

pics, may help what I'm trying to say.>trying to find wall thickness, with OUT, porting a "hole in the wall"
  bottom- hole-to-hole- 2.725"
        top hole-to-hole .2.760"
           pinch-to-pinch 2.360"

pinch wall, should be .1825" at bottom and .200" at the top
if this is correct, then I should be able to port,
the pinch wall, only first,( so I have a way to measure)
going at least.100"  and still have enough wall thickness Cool

checked all ports>cnc machined(push rod holes) both heads same
over all-12.361" outer-to outer holes/ checking port spacing/same both heads

using a Square, I marked the hole, in relation to the port.
I find the stock pinch opening to be 1.050"
I'm going to open it to 1.150", then I'll remove .045" from both sides of the dividing wall
so that pinch port opening will be> 1.195" wide

Well, get up front- and tell us about it. Wink

I was, gonna tell ya, I started at .100" off the Push-rod side,
Then, 0.50"  off the divider wall side,
and, Justa  to put my 50 cents  in,,> I took, .050" off EACH wall, again

Makes that Hallway., worth,(1/4") .250" wider  THAN stock port.Popcorn Cheers

Since they are aluminum, just weld more to the pushrod pinch grind away,  and use a offset intake rocker. done

Since I have NO INFO, on max porting THIS head
I'm interested as are others.
How far can ya grind the pinch wall?
Til ya "See" the other side?HuhHuh

 Maybe later,
when I stroke the next short block.
This block was being built before the heads were made
plus  I have a New set
Rockers collecting dust.

I just sold my last load of Scrap,
to buy a winch, for the 73 Dodge  car hauler.
gonna mount it, Behind the Cab, on the Ramp bed
9,500lbs, pull,  Aut to git  "Up"on there"
I'm broke Sad

welding up the outside of the pushrod pinch is fairly old school and using offset rockers.   Glad you are doing it.  You notice their is not the "huber-hump" at the bottom of the head bolt boss, like stock heads, another old school trick.  I hope everything works out well,  Steve D.
