I have an original 6 pack cam, 3 bolt sprocket with no markings on it. Does this cam require special low taper lifters? and if so are they available? Thanks
as of what i know the only thing dif about the six pack cam is that it had the 3-bolt retaining oppose to 1... the specs are axactly the same as the magnum cam 0.228@0.050 int 0.241@0.050 exh duration .450 int .455 exh lift with a 115 lsa....oh wait looking in my book it does say that the six pack was a low taper design and require special lifters PN 3420039 {from mopar}
From my readings, they have always said the OEM 6 Pak cams were a low taper design. Special lifters required. My question is why would you want to run an OEM cam from back in the day in the first place? We've come along way since 1969. Better stuff is available, not necessarily bigger just better thought out.

The reason I wanted to use this cam is because I have a friend who needs a cam for his 383 and he is on a strick budget. He is restoring a 69 Fury Trooper car. I was going to let him have it free. With out the lifters who knows??? Are there ANY identifying marks on this cam?
It'll probably cost him more for just the right lifters than replacing the cam and lifters with a "Summit Special".
