Paint Scheme
« on: February 23, 2008, 01:48:09 PM »

Hey, I'm going to have my car painted, I know what colors I want it to be, but I'm not set on what to do for sure. I'm want the primary color to be B5 blue, and I want some sort of black accent, I know we are putting the rag top back on it and it's gong to be black. but I don't know for sure what to put on it, maybe you guys (and gals) could give me some ideas. I like the cammo thing that the pro stockers have but I don't have that kind of money to spend on the paint, I wouldn't be able to do anything else to the car.

I'm old fashioned & like the psychedelic paint schemes of the early 70s P/S cars. While that's a bit much today, you could go for a similiar, but more supple look. Or imagine what the factory might've done with the car TODAY as far as graphics go, and try that..............

I'm thinking maybe just blue all over with the black rag top, maybe a black scoop, and black stickers, name, sponsors (if any), etc.

I personally like the factory scheme for what ever year your car is. Mine's a B5 73 Swinger which there was no stripe package available that year......that's how she stays. My fave stripe is the 69 Swinger though

Yep.  Frosted Iris.  Dunno   But its still in the basement.  Concentrating on your Dads car right now. Not sure if that paint is going on the Bug or the drag car.  Just loved the color.  Different from everybody elses.    Maybe we'll put it on tne panel?!?    Poor guys, my dart and the panel are all covered in snow right now!!    Some day, maybe we'll win the lottery!

Maybe black out the hood and tops of the fenders like an AAR Cuda? I'll probably do my roadrunner like that.

I've thought about paintin my car and truck the same, I like the idea. I think it'd look cool to see that running down the highway, car and truck painted the same.
That Cuda idea isn't too bad, that would be something simple and different.
