I think it "pops", but it would "pop" more with a MoPar in it and being built mechanically proper. I think whoever built this did it to have a few hot rod giggles and a trail truck without having to buy a truck. I'd say some sligtly higher gears, a higer revving MoPar built V8 (273...), and the "good" updates and that would be a heck of a grocery getter.  A grocery getter, a fishing truck, a family car, a trail truck, and a hot rod rolled into one... now that's clever. The body really gives to being lifted like that very well, the custom bumpers even look good. (looks like the rear is stock)

Defintely not a V-6, See the four plug wires on the passenger side of the motor?
