« on: March 24, 2008, 08:45:11 AM »

on my 65 valiant driveshaft, they have a u joint on the rear going into the differential and a CV style joint on the other end by the transmission. i'm not sure what this style joint is called. the boot on mine has been missing and of course now the joint is failing. does anyone know where i can find a replacement joint or if it's even availabe?

A drive shaft shop can remove your ball and trunnion and install a truck type flange and a standard u-joint. For a long tine B&T replacements have been scarce, recently somebody started remaking a B&T repair kit but there are still pain to have. Its better just to upgrade your drive shaft.

i figure since the original lasted over 40 years (and that i already ordered the replacement) i'll stay with the original design, but i'll take all of your advice and when it's time to do my 64 i'll look into the upgrade. thanks for the info
