What size bolts
« on: March 24, 2008, 01:57:25 PM »

What size bolts are used to attach the trans to the motor?  I need to go get some for mock up.  Thanks!

I'm pretty sure they are 3/8-16 x 1 1/2", someone please correct me if I'm wrong.
You might as well buy a good quality Grade 8 bolt the first time, just don't torque them for mock-up.

thats right 3/8-16 should be 5 in from the bellhousing ,,1 in on pass side from motor to bell housing and then the starter uses 7/16

go to your chrysler dealer and order 4 no 6027865 and 2 no 6024863 these are the correct bolts for the trans as two outer ones are longer should cost you around 12.00

Thanks for the responses guys.

I will check those part #s out.  I can't imagine spending a whole lot for the correct bolts though.  I may as well get some grade 8s from the hardware store.  We'll see what the dealer gives me for prices.

I just checked on those part #s.  My local Dodge dealer wants about $40 for all 6.  I think I'm going to check the hardware store.

Does anyone have the lengths?
