383 camshaft opinion!!!

hi all!!!here is my question!!!! im currently building myself a 1968 monaco 500 convertible(about 4200lbs with me in it)....here is the specs....383 .030 over...stock crank polish and new bearing... edelbrock 7194 camshaft: Duration at 0.006" Lift: Intake: 300° Exhaust: 308°
Duration at 0.050" Lift: Intake: 238° Exhaust: 246°
Lift at Cam: Intake: 0.320" Exhaust: 0.330"
Lift at Valve: Intake: 0.480" Exhaust: 0.495"
...with matching valves springs....edelbrock double roller timming chain...edelbrock torquer aluminium intake.....edelbrock 750 cfm performer series....full length hedman headers 1 7/8 ..3'' out....440source aluminium heads(2.14 1.81 valves milled to 80cc) ....keith black dome pistons..(6cc dome)...10.1cr.....2500 torque stall(stall at 2900 rpm)...freshly rebuilt 727 with b&m transkit(shift kit)...3.91 rear gear with locker lock right ok....i know for the camshaft and you are all right!!!!i ve just buy it too fast without asking to anyone before buying it....my bad so....now i want to buy another camshaft.....im looking for that one....

what do you guys think of that?Huh and also.....do i have to buy the cam and lifter kit or just the cam????do the comp cams will works with my edelbrock lifters?HuhHuh thanks all....i know its a bit long text but i dont want to do any others mistakes in my build!! thanks  thank you

hey if you have the engine builders guide, that mopar muscle put out 2 years ago they used that cam in a 440... Did very well! Check it out, im sure someone you know has to have it! it was a pretty hot item. The article was in a mopar mag. earlier just dont know which one. I think its called 440 resto to rad??

I have run that cam in a streeter 383  with cast iron heads and liked it.  But also used the complete kit with matching valve springs. Just don't forget to use thread locker on the cam bolt and torque to spec.  With higher flowing heads, I would at least open the valve higher to extract more potential from the heads.  Good Luck,  Steve

you can use your edelbrock lifters  and I will assume the springs are the ones supplied with the 440 source heads ...

yeah i have from 440 source but i have also edelbrocks one...to match the 7194 camshaft!!!which one are better???

just use the one you have and degree it in at a centerline of 106

I like that cam, I bet it would be good for about 400hp easy, and it should have great street manners.
