Some times the metal sleeves are rusted to the studs inside the rubber bushings,or the gasket between the firewall and motor needs TNT. SIKPUP

You've done everything right. Must be corroded. Time to get the PB Blaster out and let those studs soak.

Well, they are a metal grommet/rubber combo. So, it's possible they've been overtightened and crushed to the point where they're binding on the studs.

Still frozen up, the sleeves appear to be rusted to the studs. I have already dented up the firewall trying to pull it off with a 4ft pry bar, I have applied penetrant multiple times, I dont want to cut the studs. Any other ideas? I am thinking I might have to leave it in place, paint it, then mask it off while painting the firewall.

.......and hope the thing don't crap out on you in the near future. I'd make it my business to get it off NOW before you detail out your engine compartment. If it's this hard to get off now - it's not going to be any easier once an engine is in the car. Just my .02.

Try to get the motor off by cutting all the rubber bushings out of your way.... than maybe you can heat up the sleaves with a propane torch and vise grip them off . SIKPUP

You could sacrfice the wiper motor and cut where the grommets are. It's easier to get a new one then a new firewall.

I just thought of this, I might try my slide hammer, maybe that will work. That is if i ever get time to work on the Dart again. Buying a house is a royal pain in the ass.
