UPDATE! UPDATE!
sorry for the wait guys. heres some photos! yay for the new doors!!!!!!! these are pictures of the rear door jamb cut out... also pictures of the are where the quarter panel meets the rocker panel. instead of the normal way rocker/ and quarters are welded together on 4 doors the part of the quarter that meets the rockers actually folds under into an "L" shape and is sat on top of the rocker and then spot welded. i cut that area out (very small piece) and cleaned the are inside where the rear door jambs use to be.

Please don't take this the wrong way, but do you even have a job? Because if I were attempting what you are doing, that shit would take me a year at least. Keep up the good work!

And thanks for the votes of confidence guys. i hear ya on the work thing... sometimes i work 12 hours a day or sometimes i work 5-30 minutes a day, but i always know what to do when i get there so i just get it done, that and i have a 4-hour minimun so if i finish my work in 5 minutes i still get paid for 4 hours not a bad college gig...

I love your work, glad you went with original 2 doors saves the hassel with glass. Again you do very good work and I can understand why you used your 4 door it is in very good condition.

thanks ValiantCharger im glad people are enjoying my project. i know i am. right now i cleaned up that area where the rear door jam use to be and i am welding the quarter piece back in (use to be the rear door skin). the car is startin to look like a 2 door! check out the pictures. yea that is another reason i decided to do this car... the car is in some pretty good shape. there are few areas that need to be fixed and cleaned up: rust spots (small ones) and areas where someone else did repairs (before we got the car). i need to do a little cutting and welding on the quarter piece where it meets the rear of the front door so it matches the doors contours. also the body lines match up from the side except from the top. the lines are a little crooked so, i need to add a little space in between the top of the quarter piece and the body of the car.

he hasn't put the post in yet... maybe that'll account for the bigger opening.

i just picked up on this thread. this is pretty cool! i don't know if someone said this yet, but i have a idea. on the drivers side. turn the rear section into a small suicide door like one of those little saturns. i mean, hell, why not!

yea the post isn't in yet so the window area looks bigger. as for the saturn suicide door that is a cool i dea. i would try that on another project, but not this one because i just want a regular 2 door sedan.

according to my research the 4 door and the 2 door have the same dimensions. hell even the hemi dart has the same wheel base. i distinctly remember this because the dart and challenger share the same length wheel base when i compared them. i could be wrong i don't claim to be an expert of any sort, but I've done my reading so i believe I'm right you have to give and take a few inches on the dimensions anywho because everywhere is always a little different by at leas 2 to 3 inches go figure. check out this site http://www.globalcar.com/datasheet/Dodge/1968_Dodge_Dart.htm this is only one of the places i found my info... another great place is allpar.com anyways... UPDATE! Progress is once again halted due to I'm getting more parts!. the guy i got the doors from is going to crush the car because of the severe rust, so i asked him for the post, door jamb area, inside area, etc pics are included for you guys (Thanks again Dan! your the greatest ). i decided to go this rout because: its easier and simply because I'm lucky enough to find it so conveniently. other wise i could have modified the existing posts and interior quarter area.

Nope, same wheelbase. Darts and Scamps 111" Valiants and Duster 108". thats what i thought. thanks for the affirmation. what year Valiants have the 108" WB? because aren't the 67-69 valiants the same as the 67-69 darts? just different rear window, front clip, and rear lights and what not? ha DAN! ya know i was thinking about that seat when i was looking through the pics you sent. i do want it! do you think you can hold on to them for me? i wont be able to get them tomorrow or anything. i need some time to stack up some more cash. besides the conversion the car needs new suspension things and odds and ends.

The 67 to 69 post Darts are the same all around as the 4 door ones just 2 doors. Same glass front and back and 111" WB. Same gos for the Valiant post cars and the 4 door Valiants, 108" WB. My 67 Valiant is the same WB as my 70 Duster, both 108"

Now go talk about coincidence. I've been out for some time and last month I received a brazilian built 70 4 dr dart as part of payment for an engine i sold to a fellow. I already have a 4 door bigblock dart and I wanted real bad a 2 dr sedan, so I guessed the only way to go was to build one myself. But going one step beyond, I want my car to be an AWB 426 wedge powered car. All required parts are here, and I'll strat cutting and welding soon. Liked this post a lot, many interesting ideas, this site is really gerat!
