That paints a picture in my head now. Maybe it'd be cool to keep some sort of stock trim it and put her name in die cast letters (or a die cast script emblem) where Dodge used to go...
hey now theres an idea. The thought crossed my mind before, i didn't think much of it though, must have been workin on the car at the time and got too side tracked to actually contemplate on it.
On a '67 I would never dream of running the car without trim, but after that the trim was so ho-hum and pretty much useless (did it's own thing instead of exaggurating the bodylines or anything like that) that I think it's better without it.

we'll see. in the future the trim may be chromed, but i'm thinking only around the window area's and maybe the side marker lights. the bumpers with definitely be chrome, the grille will be painted partially black, and the chrome pieces over the rear lights will stay chrome as well.

Great job, cant wait to see it in primer, now you need some buckets or a split bench or you wont be able to use the back seat  lol
ValiantOne do you want to sell your doors and quarter windows etc., I will trade you for four doors off my valiant? You could be the first to do this swap in reverse!!
Thanks again for the inspiration I'll keep looking for a donor valiant so I can make a 70 two door post.

i have some seats out of an 85 corvette that i may modify to put in the dart (was gonna put them in my challenger, still thinkin about it) or i could get that bench seat from Dan. just spent $244.64 on a pair of super stock leaf springs (thats what summitracing has them labeled as... however they were the cheapest available so i go em. the old tired springs on the car already are sagging)

i took a step back from the car yesterday (ya know... just to take it all in) and started thinking:

the car started out as a slant six 4 door dart 270 with a 7 1/4 rear end. Its now a 2 door with a 8 3/4 rear filled with a pair of big bolt pattern Yukon axles, and a 3.23 sure grip. The engine to be residing will be a 360 with a 727. so much has changed and i didn't even realize it... Huh Shocked

That's how mine started out as well. Two owners ago it had the original 225 six, somewhere in/between the two it got a '72 Duster 340's whole drivetrain, but still retained its 9" drums up front. The major direction is going into a 273 4-bbl clone (was available from the factory...) Right now collision repair is first, then getting the car ready to daily drive, then I'll figure out what's next.

Do you by any chance still have the rear quarter molding? I'm in the midst of a large search for one. For some reason the driver's side rear quarter molding is always taken off of any Dart in a junkyard or anything, it's a little weird to me...

Anyway, good luck on your 2 door, it's coming along well.

sorry haven't forgotten about you. just got rapped up on hanging the leaf springs. I'm cleaning up the hangers and the shackles before i put them back on and replacing all the shackle bushings... but i have to wait for other 6 shackle bushings to arrive.... KRAGEN'S DOESN'T CARRY THEM! THEY HAVE TO ORDER THEM!  explode

Ah, that sucks, hopefully it doesn't take too long. I hate to say it, but looks like next week is 100% sink or float time. I'm just looking for a "decent" piece of trim, as all the rest of mine is okay as well. As long as it's straight, solid, and complete. Some crazy salvage corporation wants me to pay $260 for a messed-up piece, whereas the junkyard I got the rest from woulda charged me around $65 if they had it...

heres some pictures of the car out side my "garage" lol rolled the car out to lay down some thick plywood over the dirt drive way as you can see in the picture in my previous post. (its nice to work on a clean flat surface and find things that i drop )

the first picture with the lovely lady is my Girlfriend and the second picture with generic jack @$$ is me lol posing with my work i guess.

GUESS WHAT! i gots the 360 in the car and man it was a task! i put the tranny and the engine in in one go  Whew

heres some pics and the good part is that the headers from my challenger fit in the dart as well... so far... i think the the center link for the steering hits the driver side header when i turn too much to the right... don't know how to fix this... maybe ill grind some metal off of the center link where it hits or somethin like that... anyone run into this problem before??? how'd you fix it??

that rubber tube is a drain/vent for the starter.

As far as the headers you can ding the tube that is hiitng the steering link ....

BTW it looks great keep on keeping on ....
