Does anyone know the resistor is for on a wiper motor? Its on a 73 dart sport (wild383's) It does not actually show a resistor in the wiper circuit in the wiring diagrams.

I went a little deeper into the service manual and found some test procedures concerning the wiper system. I still don't know why  the resistor is on it but I know how to wire it now, and thats basically what I needed.

It's a ballast resistor, similar to the one in the ignition circuit. It would be there for protection of the motor or circuit.

To the best of my guess I figure the resistor is for low speed, kinda like the one found on heater fans.
