I don't think you'll need a lot of lift or duration. Probably something in the low .500's with about 225-230 duration @.050. You'll need the extra torque down low to get that pig rollin'

Comp ams XE 274, it is a little strong on duration with your weight, but you have 10-1 cr and stall and 3.91 gears. This cam will run like a scalded cat with that combo. It also has a nice lumpy idle to it. It is a hyrdaulic and can use stock rockers and is a no brainer to change.

i'm with illfish, i wouldn't max out on a cam any more than 230@50 & wouldn't squeeze it any more than 10.1 at the absolute max. you need torque to get your aircraft carrier moving not high winding HP.

I'd go for the XE274. It's a more modern grind with a wider powerband, less duration and less valve overlap. It'll give you more vacuum for your power brakes and more low end torque to get that yacht movin'. I'm going with the XE262 myself. Mine's a B body, 3800 lbs. w/ 3.54 gear and stock converter. Looking for a nice running street engine that can PULL away from traffic lights in a hurry and idle without overheating or fouling plugs.

IMO Comps. XE268H I think it would be good for the stall and 3.91 gears you are using. The rpm range is better (1600 -5800) then the XE274 and the XE268 has a more suitable duration 224-230 @.050 The choice is yours both would work fine.

i really dont want a 12 sec car!!!but you know last year with that car i run 10.70 on 1/8 miles about 15.90 on 1/4 miles.....and it was running pretty strong!! imo (all stock and really tired 383 2bbl 2.76 rear open nothing modified)so with my new combo.. im thinking of maybe 9.50 on 1/8 miles about 14.50 on 1/4 miles ..so...really not a drag car...just want to have fun and impress some people that think than that boeing cant do burnout... i know this car is damn heavy...but i saw some(heavy) 80's full size pick up with 350 chevy(crap...(my opinion)) doing real good on the strip.....
