*Offset* Master Cylinder Adapter
« on: April 03, 2008, 10:40:21 AM »

Am sure everyone's familiar with the *offset* MC adapters for A-bodies to be used when installing the later model aluminum MCs.

(Not to be confused with the much more common non-offset adapter/spacer allowing use of the later MCs)

It was originally made to allow more VC clearance on Hemi A-bodies, but also helps with clearances on BB A-bodies.

(It is sold by MOPAR, Mancini, & AR.)

Is anyone here running one?

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Any issues with the brake pushrod? (length, angle, etc) -------------?HuhHuhHuhHuhHuh

Did your original brake pushrod work?

Or did it require the adjustable pushrod?
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Because of the slight lateral offset of the MC, does this resulti in any issues for the stock pushrod?
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

*Appears* all you need is a late-model MC, and the offset adapter.

Is it actually that easy?

How did your install go? -------------------------------- Thanks!

I don't know the answers to your question, but I do know Master Power Brakes has adjustable pushrods for ~$30.  Good people to deal with also.

I think Mancini sells them. I made my own from aluminum. This is the firewall side.

The AR version moves it over 7/8". You basically move the pushrod to the other side of the pedal, but you need to add about 3/4" to the length, so an adjustable pushrod is needed.

...I also started carrying a 2" offset version that's popular with the SS hemi cars - you can pull a hemi valve cover without removing the master - this one requires a little fab work at the pedal though.

Master Power has the best adjustable brake push rod on the market.  Imho.

I don't know if this would work as good for hemis, but we just moved the master cylinder up, used the top bolts for the bottome of the ms, and re drilled for the top, didn't have to do anything special or spemd any extra money, other than two bolts and nuts
