Hello:
Looks good nice job..but the engine looks a tad bit big for the car, perhaps you might want to trade me for a smaller one? LOL  LOL

i'm gonna peel that off today, i put it on there when i first started doing the body work, didn't want to take any chances on debris getting in the engine.

A pinnacle point in a car build.   Final masking;  wetting down the floors;   coat of DP (?) primer/sealer and of course the paint.   LOVE that part better than almost ANY other part of building a car.   'Course, final assembly with fresh paint and new parts is hard to beat too!

Looks real good!   What color is that?

I wish mine was in paint right now. Unfortunately, I have not touched my Dart in over a month, and probably will not until I get into a new house.

I'm trying to learn body work as i go. What was the benefit of painting the fenders and doors off the car?
when the doors were sprayed were they laying down. My understanding is that there can be a visual difference in the panels if they are not sprayed in the positions they will be mounted. For example the fenders were sprayed standing up. the quarters are a given standing up. But the doors. if they are sprayed not standing up will this affect the way the paint lays?

The benefit is that you can paint the door jambs, hinges, inside metal of doors etc. This also would be a good time to replace door hinges or a rebuild kit.

color match from panel to panel is a possible issue with metallic colors......especially the lighter ones.......but an experienced painter could most likely handle it.

the surface texture (orange peel) could also vary from panel to panel, but wetsand flat and buff fixes that.....also makes for a real nice job. personnaly, i wetsand/buff everything.

thanks eldubb440, now that you mention it, i recall it being about metallics. There was a concern about the metallics flowing the same on the panels if they are not all standing in the same positions. Thanks for the info.
