the plug on the trans detects when you are in park or neutral.
isn't wiring the shifter redundant at that point?
i just run a wire from the trans to the starter relay.

Through the neutral switch on yhe 'Output' side of the starter switch. In other words power into starter dash switch. Then into neutral switch. Then from neutral switch to Starter. Grin

The STD neutral safety switch sends a NEG signal to the starter relay when it is in Park or Neutral. You can use any relay to trigger the system, not necessarilly the OEM one. The Safety switch just sends one half of the signal needed to fire the relay. The key sends the other.
