Hi all . . new to the board . . have a question about my 1974 Duster360 . . . car is stock, except for the following that I did to the suspension, many many years ago now . . .
regular rubber bushings on all front end, EXCEPT for front sway bar . . polyurethane on that used the problem solver upper control arm bushings (offset for more camber??) Solo Racing torsion bars from Direct Connection (like I said, many many years ago) . . .these are great, good ride and NO front end plowing
Rebuild rear springs with added leaf 3/4" Addco rear sway bar (polyurethane bushings on that)
KYB Gas-Adjust shocks on all four corners . . .
Here it is 100,000 miles later, and I want to rebuild the front end again. I am pretty sure the lower control arm mount has some cracks or such around it - want to fix that up . . . and just freshen it up. I want to go with the regular rubber bushings again, HOWEVER, am thinking the tubular upper control arms would be a benefit for the camber/caster. Main thing is the car is ok, except when going over the highway and truck ruts are pulling the car whatever way !!! Also, seems like I can't keep front end alignment and always wear the front tires - am sure it is issue of lower control arm mounting . . . I don't really do much rallye driving or such, just like taking it out for long hauls on the road to carshows (2.45:1 rear end - yup, 20mpg @ 70mph!!!), your thoughts would be appreciated . . .
Thanks,

sounds like a good plan ... definitly get that lower mount fixed up ... the offset bushings were t ohelp with camber when lowering a car ... also helped get more caster. the tubular A arms will allow for more adjustment than you will ever need ...
