I was just curious.  We have been looking for a while, and have ran across a few.  I don't think my wife really "got it" but I finally got her to read up on HOAs and how they basically take all of your property rights away as soon as you sign.  Definitely not for us.  I am a total neat freak, but there is no way I am going to bow to some group of individuals when it comes to dictating how I need to present the property that I PAY for.

Trouble is that you either deal with that or you run the risk of ending up like the guy in this thread with hill jack neighbors.  I guess the best bet is to find 10 acres and build your house right in the middle of it.  However, most cannot afford that much land that is not out in the middle of nowhere.

The property could lose its HOME STEAD exemption if the owner is using it as a rental, stick it to the property owner $$$$$$$$$$

"This all stems back to the owners who used to live there. Real assholes also. One of the room mates hit on my buddies wife across the street. He (my friend) showed up on my doorstep drunk with a S&W 357 threatening to shoot him. I felt I needed to intervene; so I told the guy next door his life was in mortal danger and he should flee before the neighborhood threw a blanket party or worse for him. (That didn't go over very well; but it was better than watching him get murdered) So they got pissed at me; and ended up renting to these low lifes now."

These people are renters? Do whatever is within your legal power to make the LANDLORDS life a living hell as well as the occupants. Check the local ordinances and hit 'em in their wallets!

Don't let up on the owner. If you could do it have some sort of legal note for code violation or whatever in his mail box when he gets home every day, Joe.

Where would one get a catapult to do the before mentions things?  I not asking for myself of course, asking for a friend.  My "friend" has neighbors that think its o.k. to fire there guns in there backyard at all times of the day and night.  My "friend" does not have a problem with guns he has many.  But has a problem with them being fired in a residential neighborhood with alot kids running around.
