I went to the site and it says : Rocky Mountain Dashes has shifted gears for the better. We're currently working on a re-capitalizing plan that will enable this company to not only survive, but become a much stronger automotive customizing company.
Stay tuned for further developments, which will be coming shortly.
Souds like they are coming back better (I Hope)

Its not hard to believe. Not to cause any flames or bad feelings, but the prices were too high for the dashes. Not many people can afford a $700 dash plate. I do not doubt that they actually cost a lot to make, but the demand for such a pricey piece is likely very low. I suggested a few times he makes some cheaper plastic ones or some flat aluminum ones. Maybe even a stamped steel one could have been a better seller. Custom auto parts is a tough business, but sometimes high quality and unique products cost too much to manufacture and the market just does not have the demand for those parts. I wish him the best of luck with a new venture.

Bad timing I guess, I just noticed my lastest copy of Mopar Muscle has a feature of RMD. It shows their B-body prototype

Unfortunately, thats true, but I am sure they were charging a fair amount based on fabrication and material costs. I have seen one close up, and it looks like it was a lot of fabrication and welding, but it was not a "finished" piece by any means. You could not just bolt it in and go, a lot of grinding and sanding is needed, or it would have to be painted, as most have done. I suggested several times that he make a flat one or a plastic drop in version. Redline makes one that fits some cars, but if you have the long spedometer, then it is not big enough to cover the hole.

I agree. That was the one thing that stopped me cold and decided for me to fix my OE dash. But cost of materials and workmanship help drive the costs. Not to mention the hours involved in creating and sanding and fininshing, etc. Here's an idea! Move it to China or Mexico and the labor part is much-o cheaper-o! Just kidding! We've had enough out sourcing for a while. I like the idea of a aluminum plate facia too for us cheap-o racers that are too lazy to make our own. Even that would be a big help.

I received my RM dash week before they closed. Glad I didn't have them power coat it. It took some trimming and adjustments to make it fit. Well worth the effort it is an awesome piece. I went with full length and glove box cover. I think aluminum is needed to give the dash support as large portion of the original metal & support needs to be cut out. Perhaps someone could come up with a molded fiberglass insert to replace only the instrument cluster. It would certainly be more affordable.

I have a RM dash and i will say it was worth all the money. I work for a custom Hot Rod shop and if you could see the amount customers pay for custom stuff its crazy. Our prices are 60.00 an hour you figure its 480 a day to get something worked on or built so 500.00 to 700.00 for a custom dash is not all that bad.

I have one of the last ones made. Unfortunately it will not work with my cage I'm on the fence about making it work or putting the dash back in the way it was.
