dart front fender splash panels?

 boom[]HELLO  71 dodge  dart  here,  has anyone removed the panels  in the front wheel house  behind the wheels for  drag  racing    weight savings   , its where  the panel leads to the doors  ,wondering if its needed or will it slow the car down with out  them   thanks  daniel drake  email  bigblockdartno1@aol.com  if u have   thanks

You talking about the splash shields? There's not much to them so I don't know as though there would be a significant weight savings (I just reinstalled mine). And you'll create a nice scoop for air to collect inside the fender in front of the door without them.
