Well I got rid of the stock gauges and installed autometers for everything. Now I don't have these three hooks, the multi plug in the back of gauges, the red power wire, and black ground which both hooked to the back of the stock dash. I thought I only powered the dash, not the whole car? Do I need to jump anything with the multi plug to get power to the fuse box? Some how the dash must send power the fuse box, which I have no power to. What do I need to do to get power back thru the system with out using the stock dash in my 67fastback.
You need to connect the red and black wires, essentially bypassing the ammeter. Disconnect the battery first, and thoroughly insulate the connection to prevent shorts.
