Found a product great for detailing. Dupli-color Scratch Fix 2 in 1. I used this to refurbish my dog dish hubcaps. Flat black (NG SF 104) which has a ball point pen applicator. The black painted areas are recess stamped into the hubcaps. All you have to do is run it aroung the factory recess and fill in the middle. These 2 pic were the same hubcap taken less then 5 min. apart. The 2nd pic shows some gloss but it's just cause the paint is still wet.
Grills are made the same way with the black area recessed. My next project will be to re-do my grill.

Houston....We have a problem.
Hold off on this idea. I stripped the paint on the hubcaps and buffed them out. Last night I painted them and it looked great but this morning I found the paint did not adhere and is peeling. Bummer........I'm going to try dumping the rest on the paint out of this applicator and filling it with self-etching primer and doing a 2 coat process.
Any of you painters out there that can help please pipe up.

Problem solved. I took a dremel with a small grinding stone and roughened up the painted area then used the paint applicator shown. They sell primer in these and afterwards painted the areas flat black. For the small areas in the center of the dog dishes I used a small dremel grinder that looks like a finish nail that's diamond coated. They look great.

The metal tip has a tendency to scrape the old paint. I would suggest detail photos of which areas are painted, then stripping the old paint which will give you an opportunity to buff the peice. Then paint it. It is a gravity feed so you need to have the peice laying flat.

I like to use hobby type paint pens. Might not be the most durable paint out there, but man they work nice!

FWIW, the wheels I did on my Wrangler 3 years ago still look good and the paint is not peeling.
