How can you identify a real 62 super stocker Savoy ? I thought that it was the heater hose location thru fireway and some extra bracing underneath. I was at a friends house today and they have a 62 Savoy currently with a 426 wedge crossram, huge cast exaust manifolds like headers ( I believe a 62 should be a 413). If its a clone it was done long ago. Its have the dash sticker of super stock warning, appears old, 3" exaust with cutouts( Is definatly dated ,rusty), 426 valve cover decals are old!. They bought it cheap as a clone. The seller did not try to say it was real. Has fender tag if it helps! I have a few pics from their 3 buildings of cars. I posted their Superbird,T/A challenger and 70 340 4 speed dart before. They have a slew of Vettes( 55, 59,61,68 427 conv, 68 427 coupe, 72 454, a coupe late models) and other toys - 2+2 pontiac 421 4 speed, 406 fairlane tri power, 58 impala busines coupe.

was the voltage regulator mover over the clear the air cleaners ?
Is there a choke cable through the dash next to the headlight switch ?
Is there 2 extra brackets on the underside of the floor pan to hold the e brake cable away from the exhasut system ?
was the car made in detroit ?
there was not change to the fire wall but one of the heater hoses should have a 90 bend on it where it goes into the fire wall
there were no torque boxes on these cars.
is the wiring routed up by the fender bolts on both sdies of the car ?
the 62 cars all came witha 413 but some one could have swapped the motor ...
post the pics ...

I know a fella like that. He has a big block 63 Galaxie, a 427 Corvette, a 19k mile orig. Little Red Express Truck, a 73 440 RR to name a few. All in amazing condition. His garage fits six vehicles and he has the "secret" hiding place for the rest of his treasures. He has no retirement savings and is going to sell off when he wants to retire. I wish I had his problems.

the car is a clone, golden commanod cars were either 383 or 361 powered cars ... the volt regualtor and lack of choke cables, lack of driled holes for wiring harness on inner fenders give it away ... it is a very nice car I wouldn't mind owning it ...

I know a guy who picked up a max wedge car that was on Ebay. The seller didn't know it was, b/c he was more into Chevy's and it was sitting in his field. He wanted it gone, so the guy called, offered $1200, seller accepted, and he overnighted a money order. (Thats what he told me atleast. Can never trust anyone until you see the car. :p) You're buddy though, he has quite a great collection.

1962 Dodge Ramcharger Engines Had Chrome Valve Covers On What Should Be A 413? I Don't Think So! My 1964 Polara Came With A 426 Stage III Had Unpainted Factory Valve Covers With No Decals On! And No Heater, No Heater Core Or Hoses, Windshield Wipers Or Motors. And It Would Have Been Built At The Hammtramck Assembly Building In 1964. Definitely A Clone!

Thats a nice looking car. If you look at the fender on my 63 you can sorta see the Sport Fury emblem on the fender and below it the other emblem says "Golden Comando Power" as it was an original 383 car and the 383 cars in 63 were called Golden Comando cars. The 361 Ply cars in 63 said "361 Comando Power" on them. The best bet to know for sure on this car is to buy the book on the 62 Plymouth 413 Max Wedge cars by Darrell Davis as he list all the VIN #'s on the cars and if the VIN # is not in the book it is not one !
