On an A-body, four castle nuts are evenly spaced along the top and two screws on the outer curve about half way down. Remove these and the dash will slip off with a slight tug.

It's only necessary to remove the windshield if you want to remove the metal dash, but not the dash pad.

There's five nuts across the back, AND you don't have to remove the windshield to remove the dash, either. It's just harder and requires cutting the fasteners.

The metal dash frame??  What fasteners do you cut? If so how can you reinstall the dash frame with the windshield installed-use very short screws? Have tried to remove the frame with the windshield and decided it was not possible.....

Hello All:

I assume the dash pad removal is for the top pad.  What do you have to do to remove the lower "dash pad" on a 68 Valiant?

Remove the retaining nuts. 3 left, 4 right Ithink.

Thank you for the information.  I have to go diving under the dash soon to remove the top/bottom dash pads and unsnarl all the wiring the last owner rigged up when they converted the car to a racer.

Thanks again.
