Yip I did it at home. When I started out I didnt know anything about bodywork, so I took it slowly and researched a lot before I did anything. The color is BMW LeMans blue and the stripes are Ford Ranger silver. Im still going to throw three more coats of clear before wet sanding and polishing. Thanks for the thumbs ups guys! Its really motivating! Oh yeah, Doug, you'll see those spindles up and hanging by tomorrow!

You-da-man.  That looks awsome.  I love the fact you did that at home.  I'm toying with the same plan, but the more I look into it the more scared I get.

nah the most important thing to remember is that the quality of the final product is directly proportional to the amount of work invested. I have close to 1000 hours in base bodywork... At least I had an apprentice to help with block sanding otherwise I dont think it would have been painted yet. Theres so much advice from the folks on this site, just ask and you will get great answers. good luck with your project!

Thanks a lot guys, TrxR I dont know the paint code unfortunately, but Its called Le Mans blue and is found on the new 3 series as well as new m5. Its an awesome looking pearl color, when the suspension is bolted on, Ill push it out into the sun, thats where the paint jumps to life  !nanr

Some update pictures:

I got most of the wetsanding done and the front suspension set up. Doors and roof have been fitted with Dynamat extreme, sounds real solid now.

OOPs, wrong upper balljoints... the ones I bought where to big ('73 up I think) Good excuse to buy a pair of UCAs from RMS  !nanr  duster

The engine bay, looks dirty, it is. Its full time job keeping the car clean...  Frustrated Should have bought a cover BEFORE i started painting.

Hello:
Looks super so far but then Blue is my favorite color.  You'r absoutly right on the neccessary work prior to paint.  To many get in a hurry to get that finish paint on, only to be sorry afterward.  Best advice on that is when you think your done block sanding. Shoot another contrast color and sand again, you'll be glad you did.
BTW I'm ignoring the fact of Ford Silver stripes.  JUST KIDDING LOL  VERY NICE WORK
