rear view mirrors

70 duster  my outside rear view mirror is getting loose   any way to tighten this animal up   thanks

Is the mirror glass itself loose, or the entire mirror assembly where it attaches to the door?  If it is the entire assembly, the holes in the door skin are most likely stripped or rusted out.  You would have to pull the mirror off and weld the holes shut and re-drill them if that was the case.

... Or you can hold a sheet metal screw nut, like the kind used for mounting speakers, under the screw with a pair of pliers and tighten the screw. No welding required, but it may take two people to do.
