Our tracktime sucked!
« on: May 03, 2008, 03:08:03 AM »

Well, after all the prep, the Dart just wouldn't do right! It had a mind of its own. Last night was TnT at Memphis Motorsports Park, man it sure was crowed ,it took us 30 mins to get in. Then after 20 mins to get it thru tech.We put it into the staging lanes which was overflowing with cars.
So after about another hr the 383Kidd, pulls into burn out area , then starts his burnout, but only one tire is spinning Dunno,so he turns first stage lt on and snorts it, then pull to next stage lt. He stalls it up and leaves , spinning both tires, he notice it taking a long time for shift lt to come on.because he left with it in 2nd gear  \/][ He ran a 1.82 60ft,12.42 1/4. I call him on the phone and tell him to bring it back around to make another pass,so we waiting in staging lanes and it starts to rainning so he gets out of the line and brings it back to the trailer and its running funny. cuts it off an it disels off, won't start back up! So after looking it over, not finding anything wrong, we thinks it flooded, so I tell    him to hold pedal to  floor ,then try and start it, it fired up , so we went back to stageing lane, but they had closed them, so we went to another area at track to do some burnouts, to ck rear, we still only have 1 tire , spinning the the next time they both would spin.  Madd Madd Pulhair^*So now we have problems with our83/4 and the trans shifter!

Here's what I tell my plumbing cutomers, "Nothing that time and money can't fix".   lol  Seriously, I hope it's a simple cheap fix.  How are things in West Tennessee.  The economy sucks in east Tennessee right now.

Keep at it, eventually you will find all the gremlins and it will be worth it  Grin

your suregrip unit seems burned up, time to go for a spool so both tires will turn at the same time,  steve

agree
Just about to say, as far as the rear end gremlins are concerned, it sounds like you killed your Posi. Probably burned up the clutches/cones/or whatever you've got in yours. Happened to our 8-3/4" in the Demon, too. We use a clutch type. Ours is a street car though, so we shied away from a spool and just re-built the sure-grip... We stuck some shorter gears in there while we were at it and took special care to break it in right so it hopefully doesn't happen again.
