hi Jim,

I've had XM Radio in my home and in my son's 72 Dart since 2004 and I really enjoy it. I guess that XM and Sirius are merging soon, so that should be interesting.  Dunno

Ive had it for two years, mainly I listen to 31 (margaritaville) and 63 (outlaw country, listen weekday afternoons for Mojo Nixon). I dont know how I lived without it and almost puke when I have to listen to the local radio stations and their corny commercials.

Later, Im off to the garage to re assemble the 408 for hopefully the last time.

I've got it, the music variety is great.  I just don't like the idea of paying for ANOTHER service.  Even if it's $14 a month.

I have XM. I love the variety and no commercials.

I had Sirius, but had issues with customer service on the equipment. Liked the channels, though.

It came free on my '06 Quad Cab, with one year free subscription. Liked it so much, when it came time to re-new, I also purchased a second set-up for my 97 Ram beater.

Quick note on  customer service... When I ordered the second set, there was a special. Sign up for a second Sirius system, and pay for the 1 year subscription, recieve the unit for free. It was a rebate type dael. Well, when I went to call in for my rebate, I was told that you call get the rebate when you install the unit and call in to get it activated. Well, by the time I got around to it, it was a couple months later. When I called in, I was told that the rebate program was over. No rebate!! I was just a little p1$$ed, and explained that I was told that I needed to activate the account to get the rebate. This person told me that the person I talked to the first time was wrong.  I asked for a supervisor, who looked my account up on "the screen" and he verified that I had called a couple months earlier. But the program was still over so he couldn't send the rebate. So what he did was sent me a credit to my credit card for the ENTIRE second unit transaction. Free unit AND free 1 year subscription !! Now that's what I call customer service!

Well, here's what my problem was. I had bought the S50 so I could record the Howard Stern show and listen on the train in the morning. After only having it for about three weeks, it stopped recording. At first I thought I was doing something wrong, so I tried again... No dice, so I called customer service and asked what to do. They said I had to return the unit and they would send another. I asked if they only needed the head unit, they said no, they need the ENTIRE kit. I had the antenna wire routed through my truck all hidden, took me two hours to put it in, two to take it out... The whole time, they kept on saying "we don't build the equipment, it's not our fault."
I cancelled my account on the spot. With the early cancellation fees, I got ZERO money back from a two year pre paid subscription. I think that was pretty crappy customer service, considering I paid 400 dollars for their top of the line unit.
Still, Satellite radio is the way to go. I had to drive to Florida a couple of months ago and it was great being able to hear the same radio for the entire trip.

The deal now is if you want a 2nd radio, it's half price on the subscription.  The stereo in my jeep is compatible with satellite radio, I think I can just add the receiver.  Dunno
