I saw an article recently where people were mounting their MSD 6 boxes in the trunk. Seems like a great place, especially with the battery back there but what about voltage drop?

in the trunk? man thats a long run. i would rather put it just inside the firewall if it wasn't gonna be under the hood.

you also want to put somewhere that it will get some airflow, even under the dash inside would be better then in the trunk.

Here's mine with chrome box as back up. Mounted on heater box. thats really not a good place for that, Just sell me that car so i can remove it for you! now back to the topic: Interior or firewall is the standard although the heat in the engine compartmant really isn't good. I can't imagine the coil would like 14' or so of primary wiring.

I just saw that mountimg in the trunk thing at the last show I was at. I agree with abodyjoe "That's a heck of a long ways to go". I'd think the longer the wiring is the harder it is for the signal, a 1-3 volt pulse, to reach the box accurately with out getting interference. Remember the radio antenna, and your cable box cable, is "shielded" to protect it from interference. I mounted mine under the dash, high on the passenger's kick panel, near the now missing heater box vent. Nice cool air coming in there so I figured I'd take advantage of it. Plus being inside it is moving weight to the rear and keeping the ignition system unavailable for "hot wiring". Even the coil is inside and hanging from one of the old heater box vent studs. Security and weight movement! I'm afraid I too have hung the Mopar ECU fom the heater box inside too. I was hiding the ECU from folks and trying keep original under hood looks. Sorry for the deception...
