Hi I purchased this for my Dodge Dart Sport BB build. It costed me $100.00 It's going to be sent out to Firm Feel Suspensions to get blast tanked and welded for extra strength. Can someone tell me if this is the right k frame? I just hope I didn't get ripped off. Thanks,

Oh...I should also add - you'll be better off this way than if it really was an original BB kframe - the originals also required a special driver-side motor mount, which is still available, however it only fits on certain engine blocks, so to use an original BB K, you have to use special mounts, AND a specific engine block. By modifying the one in the pictures, you'll be able to use any standard B block, which is a far better situation when you start building an engine.

It looks like someone has already moved the mounts back to the big block position.

Good point, not that I stare a bit closer Drive side seems obvious... can't tell if the passenger side was moved or not.

Ahh yep, you can see the passenger one too. Ok, I retract some info - it IS a 73-up V8 frame, but it's already modified

Yes, it's a modified 73-76 k-member. Might be to DC specs, might not. You'd have to measure it. I can't tell from the pics if it's a DC k-member or home-built. A picture of the driver side saddle from the passenger side would tell.

In the write-up, is it supposed to be 1 and 3/16" or 13/16"?

Both. Driver side 1-3/16" and passenger side 13/16".

If you don't fail, you cannot succeed.

I am new to BigBlockDart, and I must say all of this information is great. I picked up a '68 Valiant in April and am still sorting out what I have. The pictures in this post and the information in the referenced Tech Section match up with the set-up in my car.
So, here are my questions:
1. With the '73 to '76 modified "K" frame, what oil pans can be used with out interference with the "K" frame and tie rod? I am in the process of cleaning/painting the engine compartment. If I need to modify anything on the "K" frame, now is a perfect time.
2. What headers work the best with this "K" frame? The car is cut for fenderwell headers, but I prefer to go with under chassis.
Any of your experiance will be appreciated.
Thanks, John

The DC k-member puts the engine in the stock location, BUT each car is a little different. Generally speaking the C-body oil pan will fit without mods, but the dimple may have to be enlarged. Having never run headers I can't tell you what fits best, but go through the tech pages for the options.

How do I tell the difference between a 73 and up versus a 72 and down K frame?
