Air bag suspension
« on: May 07, 2008, 08:12:49 PM »

Looking to swap to a coil over front kit minus the coil overs. I'm going to do a independent rear suspension to so I want air bags back there to. Anyone know what kind of bags i should run and also how low I can get the frame?

...AlterK and Street Lynx 4 link is available with air.  That would probably be the easiest and best way to go, since the suspension geometry is figured out already and it's almost a bolt in

Air Ride Tech.  "SHOCKWAVES"

Looks like you will have to fab the rest unless you go with the AlterK & Street Lynx 4!

 AlterK & Street Lynx FTW!

Oh definitly the AlterK and the street lynx are awesome but I can't afford ether right now. I'm eventually going to buy the alterk but I like the idea of having independent rear suspension for handling.

Are you planning on running an independent suspension or a link style suspension? Independent is like what you would find in a Viper or corvette Alterk is link style. I would recommend shockwaves for either setup. Since your trying to do it on the cheap you could use firestone bags with a external shock. Checkout some lowered truck sites.

As stated in my original post it's getting independent rear suspension.

I have been doing a lot of measuring on the IRS on the new charger. it certainly is not a bolt in , but it looks like it would require very little fabrication to make it work.  I do however question the strenth and durability of the dif and housing.  also any thing you would get out of a salvage yard would probably be trashed and cost at least an arm.

I'm going to be using a setup out of a ford thunderbird.
